ORGANISATION RESPONSIBILITIES

The overall responsibility for health and safety policies and the management framework for putting them into effect lies with the Founding Organisers and the Management Committee;

bullet

Members of the Management Committee will review health and safety planning and set objectives for health and safety actions at their regular (quarterly) meetings;

bullet

All members and associates of Amity Reading Clubs will be kept adequately informed on health and safety issues during weekly club meetings or at the AGM;

bullet

Local arrangements affecting safety at individual clubs are the responsibility of the Supervising Tutor for that club, who will supervise and co-ordinate safety precautions within the club and inform volunteer tutors and students of these arrangements;

bullet

Planning for health, safety and welfare will be driven by the outcomes of regular risk assessments and reviews of health and safety policy by the Founding Organisers and the Management Committee;

bullet

New members of ARC will receive training in general health and safety issues during their introduction to the club, and any additional training will be provided on an ad hoc basis as necessary;

bullet

Copies of the general statement of health and safety policy, and of any health and safety procedures to be observed, will be made available to all club members.
